Fridman Gallery, New York, NY

"This Moment" was a live-streamed performance that took place at Fridman Gallery on the day after the 2020 United States presidential election, when the results were still unknown. The performance utilized song-embodied gestures, and mark-making with black sand to explore and release the tensions of uncertainty. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, the audience viewed the broadcast at home on the gallery’s website. The performance was part of a Wide Awakes event, which is an open-source art and activism collective founded by artists Hank Willis Thomas, Eric Gottsman, and Jose Parla. Improvised vocals are by musical guest ArinMaya.
